Now that the clocks have gone forward (and we’ve recovered from losing that precious one hour!) everything around us suddenly seems that that little bit brighter.
We’re looking forward to the summer as much as you are, so to celebrate we have put together a fantastic offer. That means April is blind month at Barretts, with a huge array of blinds to choose from.
On all of our bespoke blinds; which includes roller, Venetian and vertical blinds, we will give you up to a massive 20% off the instore price! In addition to that, we will also offer 20% off all ready-made blinds too! Read on below and feast your eyes on some of the fantastic blinds you can pick up during the next month.
For those of you new to the idea of blinds and how they can revamp a particular room or even an entire household, let’s first look at the four types mentioned above as part of our April offer.
These are often used in more functional areas of the house, like the bedroom or the kitchen, sometimes in conjunction with curtains for an extra layer of privacy. Thinner material can be used to bring more light into the room, or thicker ‘blackout’ material to block sun glare or to secure discretion. They are simple to fit into position and remove if necessary. The great thing about roller blinds is the variance of designs and materials available, so you can easily add a splash of colour to the room, or blend in with the existing décor.
Venetian blinds offer fantastic control of natural daylight, which explains why they are so often used in living rooms, home offices and studies. Simply adjusting the slats will either increase the daylight coming in, or reduce the amount of unnecessary light from outside, which may be from a nearby road or streetlights, for example. Typically they are made up of either wood, PVC or aluminium material, all depending on the area of the home and style that suits your current interior. In terms of colour you will find a large variance available, which again all depends on how bright or subdued your tastes may be.
If you have windows in the home that are particularly oversized, then vertical blinds are a great way to secure full coverage for the room. Patio doors are a perfect example, and this style has proven to be a popular choice in contemporary homes. The added advantage being that they require very little maintenance too, which means minimal dusting required! As the slats are vertical, rather than horizontal, dust does not find a place to rest and so saves on crucial cleaning time. A vast spectrum of colours are available too, so if you need an easy answer to a big space question, this option ticks all the right boxes.
Ready Made Blinds
One of the main advantages of readymade blinds is the price aspect, so this can be a good choice if you are working to a particular budget. It will mean a little more work at home in terms of planning and trimming to the exact size that you need, but each blind does arrive with clear instructions. Readymade blinds have just as many colour and style options, and if time is your enemy and you need to buy something quick and fast, this is the perfect solution.
