A customer describes her experience of entrusting a major home furnishings project to Barretts.
“My first encounter with Barretts was through a recommendation of a friend. I had always admired the window displays when visiting Woodbridge and when I came to finally live here, I was delighted to explore all their wonderful items in-store.

I initially needed a sofa bed. I had investigated various makes at a large departmental store but when I visited Barretts, Juliana was helpful in showing me the all the options. I loved the fact the sofa bed is manufactured locally by a family firm called Alstons just as Barretts is a family firm.
The process of choosing fabric and cushions for the sofa bed was easy, aided by the unhurried but helpful attention from the staff. Barretts allowed me to take away samples to check the colour, and I felt confident that I had made the right choice, so much so that I ordered the storage footstool too.
The quality of the fabric and end-product, including the fitting service was superb. The window looks Fab in a zesty stripe! Just what I was looking for.
Next was a blackout blind for the guest bedroom. Sandra came and measured the window and recommended the best solution and again samples were on hand at home. In the end I opted for a roman blind for the guest bedroom and settled on a beautiful fabric design by Prestigious Textiles from The Vintage Weaves Collection. The fabric complemented the existing furnishings in the room perfectly. The quality of the fabric and end-product, including the fitting service was superb. The window looks Fab in a zesty stripe! I was away travelling, when the blind order arrived, Barretts were extremely pleased to fit in with my plans when scheduling a fitting appointment. I have bought two sets of Catherine Lansfield Seersucker Gingham Duvet Covers for the main bedroom and a beautiful Forever England Constance Patchwork Bedspread for the guest room. Again, whilst visiting the Linens Department I bought a silk pillowcase for my daughter-in-law delightfully presented in a gift box. I had not thought of Barretts as a solution to present buying, but they really are.

This design is the epitome of modern sophistication – a perfect foil for my mid-century, modern and antique furniture.
Debbie came to the house to introduce Stuart who fits the flooring, he was very thorough and professional, even coping with a leaking conservatory whilst laying the screed and vastly uneven floors which Stuart levelled out. I also had a custom coir mat well fitted just inside the entrance of the property which usually allows the coir matting to fit snugly into a specially designed recess area in the floor, however on this occasion in keeping with the style of the property, we opted to keep the coir mat on top of the luxury vinyl flooring surrounded by a wooden frame to prevent slippage or movement of the mat.
I love the fact that I am buying locally and from a well-established and respected firm with stellar staff making the whole, quite daunting task of buying major items, so pleasurable.

Taking away the stress of the decisions made knowing that IF needed their aftercare service is equal to their front of house service, which is excellent!
