The homeowners at the McCarthy & Stone Clarkson Court development in Woodbridge were looking to completely refurbish their Community Rooms, with a fresh new look. After reviewing contracts with multiple home furnishings stores, Barretts were chosen for our professional interior design services.

Requirements for Retirement Home Refurbishment
The Clarkson Court Retirement Community required refurbishment to two large, shared community rooms as they hadn’t been refurbished for ten years, so their interior décor was outdated.
Barretts contract with McCarthy & Stone included new carpets, curtains and blinds, wallpaper, armchairs, furniture and various occasional items. With aims to modernise the overall feel of the rooms, our interior design service was required to deliver a comprehensive restoration.
The Interior Design & Home Refurbishment Process with Barretts
Our interior designer, Debbie, created moodboards to inspire the client and give them an idea of what to expect for the end results. We worked closely with the homeowners and management right from the start, to make sure we delivered exactly what they wanted.
They’re great people to work with, and nothing has been too much trouble. The project went very smoothly, and we love the new look.

In the end, we delivered a vision that was within budget and that gave a light and airy feel to both community rooms. Many of the homeowners have been loyal customers for many years and we knew the importance of these rooms to their everyday lives, so wanted to make sure they stayed as special places to them.
This is the biggest contract Barretts has undertaken, so it was vitally important that we delivered on our promise to create beautiful and engaging shared spaces.
