We had recently purchased a new home in Aldeburgh and initially came to Barretts to look for some new furniture after a recommendation from friends. We were looking for a bookcase and TV unit for the lounge and wanted to get advice about flooring and window treatment options.

We were looking for a quick flooring solution for the kitchen and conservatory, we eventually settled upon a Comfytex Vinyl from Leoline. It looks great and has a lovely comfortable feeling underfoot due to the specially designed Luxaflex backing.

When it came to deciding on carpeting for our lounge the Westex Ultima Twist Major fitted our requirements in terms of durability, performance, and comfort. They offer five different qualities in this range with over 120 colours across the range. We opted for the Westex Ultima Twist Major in Bluebird which matches our new Parker Knoll Manhattan Power Reclining Sofa.

We were suitably impressed when we experienced some difficulty deciding on the best size sofa for our lounge, Barretts scheduled delivery of the sofa to our home so we could check for size before placing our order, which was wonderful. When it came to the stairs, hall and landing we wanted to create a statement without overwhelming these areas with something too highly patterned, yet we wanted to add a touch of colour.

After a period of deliberation, we decided upon the Hugh MacKay Twist Stripe carpet for the stairs which created just the right aesthetic for this area of our home.

To complement the striped stair-carpet, we selected an easy-clean Cormar Primo Plus carpet for the hall and landing in a lovely neutral shade.

We followed the same process for our window treatments with a complimentary professional measure appointment with the soft furnishing department. After taking time to browse the fabric books and guidance from the soft furnishings team we selected a beautiful Clarke & Clarke fabric for the roman blinds and the kitchen and neutral-toned vertical blinds for the lounge.

With the flooring and window treatments underway we wandered through to the bed department and after sampling a few of the different brand of beds in the showroom, we found we couldn’t walk away from the Hypnos Walbury Pillow Top Mattress. We opted for the hideaway divan base storage option which gives you plenty of room for storage within the divan base without the structured pre-formed drawers. The fabric covering the divan base cleverly conceals the storage area so you can simply lift the fabric to gain easy access to the stored items.

We wanted to echo the texture and shade of the divan base fabric with a matching headboard in a soft blush shade and selected a Josephine Euro-Slim Headboard to complete the look. We then made our way to the bedding department to choose new bedding.

Our overall experience far exceeded our expectation – Barretts provided excellent customer service with a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable team of staff. Each department works with the other to ensure seamless coordination. After the measurements for the carpets and windows were finalized, we promptly received our Quotation, and the installations were efficient and well executed.
