Nick Wakefield, Director of Park Properties, approached Barretts after using our services on 4 previous developments. Determined to sell his houses as quickly as possible, we were eager to team up with him and help Nick achieve this with some show home décor!
Requirements for Show Home Interiors
Nick’s requirements were for show home interiors at their St. Peter’s, Charsfield Development. The furnishings were important to illustrate how good their houses could look; ultimately, helping prospective buyers to better visualise the space and make it feel more like a home.
The kitchen/diner, living room and two bedrooms were to be furnished with a fresh, contemporary look and a ‘Suffolk coastal’ vibe.
Given the high demand for housing in East Suffolk, Nick needed a local company that would be agile and responsive. Barretts were up for the challenge!
Show Home Interior Design Process
Barretts’ Stylist Vicki Harris and her colleague Jack Mitchell picked a selection of items from the store and brought them to the St. Peter’s Close Show Home with the help of the Barretts Delivery Team.
Our show home interior design process involved Vicki and Jack spending a day carefully designing and styling each room and space. Vicki was actually featured in Vanilla Magazine’s April/May 2023 edition (page 46) going into more detail about her process and things to think about when styling a home. As you can see from the photos, the results were stunning!
Nick was also delighted – and house sales were brisk, which meant we’d helped him reach his goal. He now only has a couple of properties left at the St. Peter’s development and a further 18 units are planned. His partnership with Barretts has continued with a new show home for Deben Estates in Nightingale Court, Melton.

We chose to use the bold, timeless prints of William Morris for the bedding to make a statement and Maegan Scented Candles from the Eclectic Lifestyle Company provide sumptuous scents with an elegant aesthetic.
Bathroom: Christy Towels
The spa-like design of the show home bathroom was completed with only the best 100% Egyptian cotton Christy towels. The vibrant greens and patterns give the space a pop of colour while promoting a calming, natural atmosphere to relax in.
Homewares: Neom wellbeing, various accessories from Gisela Graham and Art Marketing
Other homewares we chose to use for this show home décor were the Neom Wellbeing collection to turn the space into a sanctuary and other finishing touches from Gisela Graham and Art Marketing to tie it altogether.
