We moved house recently and because our bedroom furniture was custom built into the architecture of the room, we could not take it to our new home. So initially we were looking for new bedroom furniture.
Bedroom Furniture
We particularly liked the range of bedroom furniture offered at Barretts by a company called Hill & Hunter who are based in Somerset. They offer beautifully made painted handcrafted furniture, made to order, offering a range of different furniture collections for the bedroom, living and dining room. We opted for the Modo Collection for our bedroom because it offered lots of storage space.

The contemporary feel of the Modo Collection also suits our house and offers a good range of paint colour choices and up to six different oak finish options, which are all matt lacquered. The pieces are available with or without oak tops and you can choose your handle options from a range of up to fifteen distinctive styles, plus it is competitively priced and built to last.
Beds
While we were shopping, we decided to replace three of our old mattresses based upon the superb selection available to try in the Woodbridge showroom, one of which was a luxurious Hypnos Origins Walbury Pillow Top mattress which is like sleeping on a cloud. Being able to try the mattresses made all the difference as we were able to compare the different mattress tensions and decide which model was best for each individual room.

We liked the fact Barretts offer a disposal service at a reasonable cost to dispose of your old mattresses at time of delivery, which was a huge help. They also offer the same disposal service for unwanted Sofas and Chairs.
When we visited the Barretts Home and Giftware department, we were impressed with the huge range of beautiful and high quality ranges. After careful consideration, we went for the lovely Sanderson Duvet Set.
Curtains
We visited the Soft Furnishings department to gain inspiration for new window treatments. We bought new curtains and found the perfect voile fabric by Prestigious Textiles for our room.
We chose an elegant double distinction pole which enabled us to position the voiles at the back of the window for added privacy when the curtains are open.

Garden Furniture
We usually find exactly what we are looking for at Barretts and we try to support local shops when we can. In fact, when we were passing the shop during the height of summer, we saw a lovely Garden Bistro set by Garden Trading on display in the window. It was the perfect fit for our patio in the style I had been looking for – we were pleasantly surprised to find such a nice range of garden furniture at Barretts!

We find Barretts staff in all departments very friendly and approachable without being pushy. They know their products and on the odd occasion they cannot answer a question, they are ready to contact suppliers while you wait to get an answer there and then.
In particular – I have found the staff in the soft furnishings department extremely helpful. They were brilliant at suggesting fabrics and finishes to fit a vague idea I had about the look I wanted to achieve! They really went the extra mile to help me to find fabrics and finishes from the extensive choice available.
I recommend Barretts highly for both choice and good customer service. A great shopping experience and so accessible on our local high street.
