A new home in Grundisburgh, Suffolk for our customer meant she needed some new soft furnishings and she chose Barretts to help her decide. Just a 15 minute drive away, we’re happy she picked our local, independent shop.

I had heard from a family member that Barretts would be the company to choose and I am so glad I did!

Requirements for Soft Furnishings for New Home in Grundisburgh, Suffolk

Our customer needed specific help sourcing fabrics and wallpapers to suit the interior choices she’d already made for the flooring, kitchen cabinets and bathroom tiles. Working with natural neutral colours throughout, she had the option to add some patterns and colour with the soft furnishings.

Another important thing for her was time – She wanted to order the curtains, blinds and wallpaper as soon as possible so they were made and ready to hang by the time they moved in.

How the Barretts Team Helped

Our experts made the bespoke curtains and blinds with great attention to detail and using the highest quality materials. Measured and fitted to the customer’s windows, Dave, our expert fitter, hung the Roman blinds and curtains, sharing the same enthusiasm when they arrived. The wallpaper was delivered promptly and extra orders were fulfilled quickly to not delay the redecoration.

Rose at Barretts was super at handling what we wanted to achieve. I was delighted with the results.

We’re so pleased we could be a part of making our customer’s new house a home with them!

The kitchen diner saw new blinds, curtains and wallpaper being added which all followed a similar theme – nature. Sanderson Paper Doves Linen 226350 was chosen for one of the Roman Blinds, where white doves cover the cotton-linen blend fabric like they’re floating through the air.

The other Roman Blind in the kitchen diner is the Sanderson Everly Fig 236422 which features a trail of flowering wild chamomile using both matt and shine textures. Pairing perfectly with the Paper Doves, these delicate prints emulate the delicacy of nature.

Combining the birds and the plants together is the Sanderson Damson Tree Brick/Fennel 226362 curtains. The curves of the trailing branches and organic colourways set the idyllic scene for dinner times and social gatherings.

To tie the entire room together is the Sanderson Lyme Leaf Celadon 216383 wallpaper. Pressed leaves on handmade parchment paper on a feature wall brings the kitchen diner together in natural harmony.

In the lounge, our customer chose the Sanderson Elm Denim 236438 curtains to bring a homely feel into the space. The interlinking stylised leaf design continues the nature theme and provides the perfect mixture of both modern and classic.

Continuing with Sanderson soft furnishings, Sanderson Bay Tree Wallpaper Copper/Denim 216361 was chosen for the lounge. Adding light into the room, the faded tones and perching birds add a delicate touch that pairs perfectly with the curtains.

Moving into the landing, the cotton-linen blend Sanderson Maelee Teal 226356 blind was chosen for the large hallway window to add a pop of pattern. The intricate wildflower design is standout amongst a light blue background and adds a nice feature against the neutral walls.

The master bedroom required a calming and comforting style as a place you come to rest, so our customer chose the Sanderson Maris Oyster 216590 wallpaper. The geometric, intricate design using a mix of metallic and matt inks add a luxurious touch to their feature wall.

Curtains and wallpaper were needed for the second bedroom and pattern was a big factor for this room as you can see. Swaffer Tutti Frutti 401 fabric was chosen for the pinch pleat curtains which were also black-out lined and inter-lined. Hung by a Hallis Romantica pole in white 35mm, the orange-red stripes marry well with the similar hues of the Ohpopsi Seedheads Pastel Haze wallpaper. This pattern combination is bold and makes a great statement in this second bedroom, we love it!

Sanderson Bird Feet Driftwood 236672 fabric was chosen for the bathroom blind which is perfectly named – who would’ve thought that the shapes of bird feet could look so pretty? This cotton-mix fabric hangs beautifully and matches the wallpaper like it was meant to be.

In the en-suite, a roman blind designed using Sanderson Armeria Trail Lichen 236675 fabric was chosen for the fresh colourway and beautiful sprays of the Armeria plant. The fine embroidery adds a detailed elegance to the room and provides a stunning way to ensure privacy at all times.
